Using an intersectional approach, we honor the unique ways race, ethnicity, gender, culture, and other aspects of identity shape your path. Through guided exercises, interactive workbooks, and soul-searching journal prompts, you'll gain the tools to live authentically and show grace to yourself and others.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Port of Long Beach for their generous sponsorship, which makes this event possible. Their support ensures all participants can grow, connect, and thrive in a safe, affirming environment.

In the Bind Book Club is more than a reading group; it’s a space for LGBTQIA+ readers and allies to engage with powerful stories that challenge perspectives, spark meaningful conversations, and affirm our lived experiences.
Through thought-provoking discussions, we explore literature that reflects diverse identities, struggles, and triumphs—whether from queer authors or voices that resonate with our journeys. More than just a book club, we are a community built on connection, curiosity, and the power of storytelling.
Starting May 7th, we’ll meet every second and fourth Wednesday from 6:30 to 8 PM, reading one book every two months to allow time for deep reflection and discussion. If purchasing a book is a financial barrier, we’re happy to provide a copy.
Everyone deserves the opportunity to participate without limitations.
Register now and join us at In the Bind, where every book opens the door to deeper understanding and sparks meaningful change.
